Personal statement

As Head of Planning and Business Intelligence in the Strategy and Planning Directorate my role is to lead a team of strategic planners and staff responsible for the University’s highly successful and transformative SUnBIRD Business Intelligence system. My team is responsible for planning, data analysis and reporting, in support of the senior management and governing body of the University. Prior to joining the University in 2017, I undertook a number of ICT Programme and Project management roles in a variety of Public Sector organisations both in Scotland and overseas. I have wide experience of leading business intelligence projects and driving up data quality in a context of continuous improvement. As Head of Planning and Business Intelligence I manage statutory reporting, the analysis of policy and funding requirements and provide guidance, advice and support to managers and senior staff to ensure evidence-based decision making on matters relating to planning, data and performance.
